ABOUT CRISTIANO DAOLIO

Finance shaped how I think. Transformation shaped how I lead.

Finance shaped how I think. Transformation shaped how I lead.

I am an Italian executive with more than three decades of experience across finance, strategy, transformation, M&A and governance.

Over time, my perspective has broadened from understanding financial results to understanding the choices, capabilities and actions that create them.

Today, my focus is on connecting business ambition with decisions, execution and enterprise value.

Understand the business behind the numbers.

Finance taught me to look for the economics behind a business: how it generates returns, uses capital and sustains performance.

Transformation taught me that changing those economics requires working across strategy, organization, technology and people.

Bringing these perspectives together means asking what the numbers tell us, why they look that way and which decisions could change the outcome.

The principles that guide my work.

VALUE BEFORE ACTIVITY

VALUE BEFORE ACTIVITY

Start with the outcome that matters and understand how each initiative contributes to it.

DECISIONS BEFORE INDICATORS

DECISIONS BEFORE INDICATORS

Use indicators to inform choices, while keeping attention on the decisions that shape performance.

FINANCE AND STRATEGY TOGETHER

FINANCE AND STRATEGY TOGETHER

Connect strategic ambition with economic logic, capital discipline and execution.

TECHNOLOGY AS AN ENABLER

TECHNOLOGY AS AN ENABLER

Assess technology through the capabilities, business changes and value it makes possible.

JUDGMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY

JUDGMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Combine evidence with experience and take responsibility for consequential choices.

CONTINUOUS LEARNING

CONTINUOUS LEARNING

Challenge assumptions, learn from outcomes and adapt as the context changes.

Two perspectives. One responsibility for value.

I am particularly interested in the connection between the investor perspective and the realities of running and transforming a business.

Investors bring expectations about returns, capital allocation and enterprise value. Organizations must translate those expectations into strategy, capabilities, operating performance and execution.

My experience has shaped a perspective that connects these two worlds through financial discipline, strategic judgment and practical action.

Curiosity is part of the job.

I remain curious about how businesses evolve, how technology changes their economics and how people make decisions under uncertainty.

Writing helps me clarify ideas, challenge my own assumptions and connect experience with emerging questions.

My current thinking explores enterprise value, executive judgment, private equity and the business implications of artificial intelligence.

Context changes. The need to understand remains.

My experience combines Italian and international environments, including activities in the United States and the Middle East.

Different markets and cultures have reinforced the importance of listening, understanding the context and adapting how decisions are made and executed.

A foundation. An ongoing commitment to learn.

My education includes a degree in Economics and Business and a Master in International Management, complemented by executive education at SDA Bocconi, London Business School and Harvard Business School.

Experience continues to be a source of learning. New situations bring new questions, and good judgment requires remaining open to both.

Independent thinking. Direct conversation. Practical action.

I value clear reasoning, candid discussion and the willingness to challenge assumptions.

I believe the most useful executive conversations connect ambition with evidence, acknowledge trade-offs and lead to decisions that can be acted on.

Still learning. Still building.

My professional journey continues to evolve around a consistent question: how can better decisions help build better businesses and create lasting enterprise value?
